Seeking Collaboration from Ghana Diaspora for Assin Foundation Projects in 2026

Posted on February 8, 2026

Dear Assin Foundation Supporters, Members, and the Wider Public,

As we continue our journey in 2026, the Assin Foundation remains committed to its core mission: preserving the rich heritage of the Assin traditional area in Ghana’s Central Region, promoting sustainable regeneration, supporting cultural tourism, and empowering rural communities through initiatives like heritage parks and community-led projects.

While the Foundation is alive and evolving in Europe—with ongoing considerations for formal structures to strengthen our international base—we face some temporary hurdles in Ghana that we’d like to address openly. Since early January-February outreach (including a February 6 deadline), we have not received responses or updates from contacts in Ghana regarding key next steps, such as written letters, agreements, or MOUs to formalize partnerships.

Current Challenges in Ghana

To provide context: Reports from before January 13 suggested that the main Chiefs of Assin Praso and Anomabo Nyame Bekyere were open to confirming terms in writing (e.g., land offers, invitations, and development commitments). However, without these essential documented outcomes or verified meeting summaries, advancing our shared goals becomes challenging. We recognize that the Chiefs themselves may not have direct access to these messages, as many rely on intermediaries due to language or technology barriers.

Opportunities Ahead

This is not a setback but an opportunity for renewal. We’re keeping the door wide open for meaningful progress and invite fresh involvement from anyone who shares our vision—especially the Ghana diaspora, whose networks, skills, and passion have incredible potential to drive change (and have been eagerly anticipated). From my enstoolment as Nana Atwere Yaw Adaenu II, I’ve seen the potential firsthand—let’s realize it together.

We’re aiming to secure partnerships by Q1 2026—your input now is key to making that happen.
